Rhinoplasty Case 36

Gender
Female

Description

This courageous woman had her nose bitten off by a dog.  Determined to restore her dignity and self-esteem, she embarked on a series of surgeries designed to use her body tissues to remake her nose.

Top row:  At her initial visit several days after injury

Middle row:  After pre-fabrication of nostrils with cartilage grafts and skin grafts to the forehead, the entire unit was transferred to reconstruct the complex defect

Bottom row:  After inset and fine tailoring, her nose is restored with her own tissues.  This case demonstrates the most complex variety of rhinoplasty surgery and combines both reconstructive and cosmetic techniques.
