Breast Lift with Implants

Breast Lift With Implants in NJ with Dr. Spiro

A breast lift with implants is a procedure that combines a breast lift (mastopexy) with a breast implant augmentation. The combination of these two techniques can increase your breast size and correct sagging, giving your breasts fuller, rounder, and more youthful contours.

With 27 years of experience, I specialize in breast lift and breast augmentation surgeries. I customize every breast surgery using my artistic vision because I know each patient is unique. Patients have traveled here from more than 25 states and 17 different countries because they know we provide transformative, positive results.

Why You Might Consider a Breast Lift With Implants

A breast lift with implants corrects sagging, adds volume, and reshapes the breasts for a more attractive appearance. You might benefit from a breast lift with implants if:

  • Your breasts sag with downward-pointing nipples that fall below the breast fold
  • Your breasts appear deflated or flattened
  • You believe your breasts are small in proportion to your body
  • You are unhappy with changes in the shape and volume of your breasts due to aging, pregnancy, or weight loss
  • Your breasts are asymmetrical

Ultimately, the decision to have a breast lift with implants is a personal one to help you feel proud of your body and better about yourself.

Breast Lift With Implants Candidates

Ideal candidates for a breast lift with implants:

  • Are physically healthy
  • Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Maintain a stable weight
  • Have realistic goals and expectations for their surgical outcomes

If you smoke, vape, or use any nicotine, cannabinoid, and/or ADHD medication, you must be willing to stop for several weeks before and after your surgery.

What to Expect During a Consultation

During your consultation, I will ask questions to understand your goals for the procedure, as well as your medical history, medications, and any drug allergies. I will evaluate your breasts to assess the extent of your sagging and your underlying torso shape, which critically impact breast appearance, implant selection, and surgical outcomes.

I will review the many options and choices for the procedure, including implant type, size, shape, and placement, and recommend the safest and most effective approach to achieve your desired results. My team and I will also explain potential complications and expected outcomes of the surgery.

Breast Implant Options

I will tailor all cosmetic surgeries to your anatomy and the results you hope to achieve. Breast augmentation significantly multiplies your customization options. For example, implants consist of different materials and come in various shapes and sizes. There are also multiple available incision patterns. I’ll explain all these choices during your consultation, allowing you to make the best decision. Here’s a brief overview of the options.

Materials

While silicone implants consist of a smooth silicone-based gel within a shell, saline implants are empty. I will fill them with a sterile saltwater solution after inserting them into the breast pockets. Both materials have various pros and cons related to look, feel, and health risks in case of implant shell rupture. “Gummy bear” implants use a thicker, cohesive form of silicone that holds its shape and doesn’t leak if the shell ruptures.

Shapes and sizes

The choice of round or contoured implants affects the resulting breast shape. I will help you choose the implants’ width and thickness to fit your anatomy and give your breasts the appropriate projection.

Placement

Implants can be placed above or below the pectoral muscle.  I place implants below the pectoral muscle to enhance your outcome and prevent the implant from obscuring future mammography and other breast imaging.

Preparing for Your Breast Lift With Implants

Preparing for breast lift surgery with implants may include quitting smoking, adjusting your medications, getting physical and lab tests, and avoiding supplements or prescription drugs that may increase bleeding. Please arrange for a family member or friend to drive you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours following surgery.

Breast Lift With Implants Surgery in NJ

I perform breast lift with implants surgery while patients are under general anesthesia. During your procedure, I make an incision following the plan discussed during the consultation. The incision might be around the edge of the areola, along the curved crease below the breast, in a line from the bottom edge of the areola down to the center of the breast crease, or a combination of these locations. After I make the incision, I reposition and resize the nipple and areola to a more youthful size and height. I remove excess skin to lift and reshape the breast. I then create a pocket for the implant under the pectoral muscle or within the breast tissue. Once I place the implants, I complete the surgery by closing your incisions with dissolving sutures. After the anesthesia wears off, you can return home with a friend or family member to drive you.

Breast Lift With Implants Recovery

Before you leave, my team and I will give you post-operative instructions to follow, including how to care for your breasts, medications to apply or take orally, and when to make your follow-up appointments. We will also provide you with a support bra to reduce swelling and support the shape of your new breasts as they recover. For the first few weeks, you may experience soreness, swelling, and bleeding in the pockets around the breast implants. You’ll need to avoid strenuous activities until I clear you to resume them. Over time, swelling will decrease, and your incision lines will fade. Recovery time for a breast lift with implants varies by patient, but, on average, it takes approximately six weeks to heal fully.

Breast Lift with Implants Results

After your recovery, you’ll see a fuller, firmer, and more youthful breast shape! Having a breast lift with implants can improve your body image and confidence by lifting, rounding, and enlarging your breasts. The residual swelling will diminish in the months following the procedure, and the implants will have time to settle, revealing your new breasts’ final appearance. The results of a breast lift with implants are long-lasting, though weight fluctuation and aging can impact your breasts over time. Adopting a healthy lifestyle and keeping a consistent weight can help maintain your new look.
