Facelift and Neck Lift Surgery in NJ

A facelift and neck lift is a combination of surgical procedures that improve the visible signs of aging in the face, neck, and jawline areas. Aging, stress, heredity, smoking, environmental factors, and even gravity can cause the loss of desired contours in the face. The combination of a facelift and neck lift can help restore your contours, deep creases between the nose and corner of the mouth, jowls in the cheeks and jaw, as well as loose skin and excess fat. I’ve had great success in turning back the clock for my patients with my 25 years of experience performing facelift and neck lift surgery. I preserve who you are and maximize your outcomes while maintaining your original identity to deliver natural results.

How Do You Prepare for a Facelift and Neck Lift?

To prepare for your surgery, you may need to take certain medications or adjust current ones, stop smoking, and avoid taking aspirin or any other over-the-counter drugs that may increase bleeding and bruising. You should arrange for someone to drive you to and from our outpatient surgical center. However, I do give patients the option to stay in the hospital overnight.
During-surgery

What Happens During Facelift Neck Lift Surgery?

During a face and neck lift, I separate the skin from the underlying (deeper) fatty layer. I use the SMAS Composite surgical technique to combine the deep fascial layers with platysma layers of the neck. I elevate the underlying layers and redistribute this tissue from the neck, face, and jowls. This technique allows me to reposition the top layer (skin) over the uplifted contours without applying too much tension to the surface of the face. Finally, I trim the excess skin away and eliminate lines and the surface laxity of the neck. Together, with fat grafting (and my blepharoplasty technique), I’ve provided my patients with long-lasting and transformative results!
Recovery-time

How Long is Facelift and Neck Lift Recovery Time?

Following surgery, a bandage is placed around your face and neck to minimize swelling and bruising, and thin tubes are used to drain any excess blood or fluid. My team and I will provide you with specific instructions to care for the surgical site(s), medications to apply or take orally, concerns to look out for, and when to make a follow-up appointment. Together with my nursing staff, we see our facial rejuvenation patients several times a week for the first two weeks to aid the recovery process and allow patients to return to normal activities within a month.
