Dermal Filler Injections in NJ

Dermal fillers, such as Juvéderm Volbella, Vollure, and Voluma, are hyaluronic acid-based (HA) products used to fill deep lines, voids, hollows, volume loss, and contour issues in the face. HA fillers last between six months to two years, depending on the location of the injection and the type of filler being used. I provide a variety of FDA-approved injectable products in my New Jersey office that can be customized to achieve your desired physical results.

Who is a Good Candidate for Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are a popular option for patients who are looking for a safe and non-surgical way to reduce the signs of aging. If you are hesitant to undergo surgery, or simply want to reduce downtime, dermal fillers are a great method for achieving a more youthful appearance. Ideal candidates for dermal fillers are patients who are nonsmokers, in overall good health, and have a loss of volume and collagen production in their face due to aging.

What to Expect at a Dermal Fillers Consultation

During your consultation, I will review your medical history and discuss your goals and areas of concern for the treatment. I will evaluate your general health status and any pre-existing health conditions or risk factors that you may have. Once I have gone over your medical history, I examine your face and skin to provide specific recommendations based on your individual needs. I will also go over the potential outcomes of dermal fillers and answer any questions you may have.

How to Prepare for Dermal Fillers

Even though most of our cosmetic facial filler and injections can be performed in less than a half-hour, there is still some preparation involved on your part. I recommend the following instructions to prepare for your dermal fillers in order to reduce the amount of bruising and swelling at the injection site:
  • Avoid taking blood thinners, anti-inflammatory medication, and Vitamin E supplements more than 10 days prior to injections
  • Do not drink alcoholic beverages 3 days prior to your dermal filler injections

How Do Dermal Fillers Work?

I perform dermal filler injections in my New Jersey office as the injections usually take only a few moments per site. Before I start, I cleanse the injection sites with an antibacterial agent. I use anesthetic ointment to numb the injection site area for you to feel as little discomfort as possible. I inject the dermal fillers using very fine needles and add additional filler after evaluating the initial results. After your injections are complete, I wipe away the face markings and provide you with an ice pack to reduce swelling and alleviate discomfort

Types of Dermal Fillers

All of our injectable dermal filler products are FDA approved and can produce results that are smooth and natural-looking. I use a wide variety of the safest and most effective injectable dermal fillers at my New Jersey office, including:

Juvéderm Voluma is used for deep injections in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss and improve the chin profile.

Juvéderm Vollure is used for injections into the facial tissue to correct moderate to severe wrinkles and face folds.

Juvéderm Volbella is used for injections into the lips for lip augmentation and the correction of perioral lines.

Juvéderm Ultra is an advanced dermal filler used to restore volume and hydration to the skin. It is most often used to address fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and to add volume to the lips.

Juvéderm Ultra Plus is used for injections into the lips and perioral area for lip augmentation, as well as for injections into the facial tissue to smooth out wrinkles and facial folds.

What to Expect After Dermal Fillers

Results are apparent immediately after your dermal filler injections, revealing a more youthful and full appearance! However, you may experience some bruising and swelling, temporary numbness or redness, or hypersensitivity after the treatment. Swelling, bruising, and numbness usually disappear within a few days or weeks after the injections and can be alleviated with topical icing. There are rare circumstances where patients treated with dermal fillers who get COVID-19 or the COVID vaccine develop late hypersensitivity to their previous fillers. Receiving fillers after COVID or more than 2 weeks after your vaccination should not pose any risk. Please let us know your vaccine status when scheduling your appointment.

How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?

All HA soft-tissue dermal fillers are temporary, lasting anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. If you maintain a good overall health and healthy and strong skin, your results may last longer. You can get dermal filler results that last by scheduling a consultation at my office in New Jersey. The apparent improvements of your fillers are likely to last longer if you combine your filler treatments with our medical grade peels and products offered by our aesthetician in our award winning medical spa.
