Aging around the eyes leads to bulging fat bags, skin laxity and excess, lid cheek junction hollow, and cheek ptosis (sag). Correction of these problems requires artful removal of excess skin, and manipulation of the fat pads by repositioning them (fat transposition) while releasing the hollows and adding additional volume (fat grafting or comingling fillers directly into the transposed fat) and lifting the lateral cheek back over the orbital rims.
