Rhinoplasty in NJ

A rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is a surgery performed to change the shape of the nose. Rhinoplasty surgery helps improve the proportions and size of the nose, correct impaired breathing due to structural defects, and enhances nasal asymmetry. I use a closed rhinoplasty approach to blend the nose with the face, creating a facial balance where the nose does not stand out as a separate entity. With my 25 years of experience, I enjoy rhinoplasty surgery and providing my patients with truly natural results that complement their face shape.

Good-Candidate

Rhinoplasty Candidates

Rhinoplasty surgery is ideal for individuals who are looking to improve the shape and size of their nose. Candidates may have a deviated septum, visible humps on the bridge of the nose, nostrils that are wide or upturned, or enlarged or hooked nasal tip cartilage. Ideal candidates are also in good physical health, non-smokers, and have realistic expectations about the procedure.

How to Prepare for a Rhinoplasty

In preparation for your rhinoplasty, you may need to get a lab test, adjust your current medications, stop smoking, and avoid taking aspirin or other over-the-counter drugs that may increase bleeding. You should also arrange for someone to transport you to and from the surgery.
During-surgery

Rhinoplasty Surgery in NJ with Dr. Spiro

During your procedure, I use a closed rhinoplasty technique, also known as an endonasal rhinoplasty. With this technique, I make incisions inside the nose to hide scarring. During the procedure, I create a harmonious nose shape that blends naturally with your face by making moderate changes to either the tip cartilages, cartilaginous dorsum, bony dorsum (hump reduction), tip angle, or bony vault. If you have a deviated septum, I will alter and straighten the septum inside to improve breathing out of your nose.
Recovery-time

Rhinoplasty Surgery Recovery

Following surgery, packing material is placed on the inside and outside of your nose to support the new structures. After your procedure, you can expect swelling and bruising around the eyes that generally subsides within the first few weeks. After six months, your nose may still experience moderate swelling, and it may take a year for your nasal shape to fully refine and heal. My team and I will give you specific instructions on how to care for your surgical site, medications to apply or take orally, specific concerns to look out for, and when to schedule a follow-up appointment to take off your splint and bandages.
