Breast Reconstruction (Latissimus Flap) Case 30

Gender
Female

Description

This patient presented after undergoing an excisional biopsy of the right breast where she previously had a lumpectomy followed by radiation for breast cancer (top row of photos).

She needed to have a mastectomy, chose bilateral and reconstruction with bilateral latissimus flaps and implants.  After this stage, the previously radiated side (her right) was atrophic and cold – normal post radiation finding (middle row of photos).

At nipple reconstruction phase I fat grafted both sides into the entire breast site (adding more on right than left) (bottom row of photos)

The results:  A soft, warm breast which was previously cold, better shape, and less tightness (bottom row of photos)
